Terms and ConditionsBefore putting your collection up for auction you no doubt want an estimate of its potential value. A viewing by one of our experts is the best route. A valuation can take place on our premises - by appointment only – with no obligation and free of charge. For larger collections or items of significant value the assessor will come to your home or other designated location if required. These valuations are also free of charge unless you decide not to go to auction. You will then be billed for valuation and travel expenses, which we shall be pleased to repay if you do decide within six months to submit your material after all.
Current market value
Our assessments are carried out on the basis of going to auction. Your material is valued on current market rates. You can get a reliable indication of what your stamps and/or coins should fetch at auction:
at our offices by appointment from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 17:00 free of charge and commitment.
- at your home or other location of your choice. This is free of charge if you submit material of sufficient value.
- a valuation by e-mail is only possible in exceptional circumstances.
We also carry out valuations for solicitors and insurance. In principle these are carried out on the basis of travel expenses and valuation fees as described in our terms. The client does of course receive a report of the value and specifications. For legal valuations we apply the rule that valuation costs are returned if the material is offered for auction within 6 months.
